Born today 5 January 1895 at 39 Portman Square ( the London town house of the Morgans of Tredegar House)  Gwyneth Ericka Morgan, daughter of Captain  Courtenay Morgan and Lady Katharine Carnegie, later Lord and Lady Tredegar.

Gwyneth Morgan ( 1895-1924) broke the mould,. a pioneering woman, she had creative hands that were used for making scuptures. A budding actress, her school performances in Shakespeare at Northlands School, Englefield Green, Surrey, ran by the great educationist Sofie Weisse at Virginia Water,  were flawless and compelling.

Gwyneth's life took several wrong turnings on account of her human failings and poor health. She sank into bad company in the madcap era of the Bright Young Things.

Poor sweet Gwyneth Morgan, a troubled life and a cruel death! Her body was fished from the River Thames in 1925. But was this Gwyneth's body?
Her life and death are revealed in a book " A Beautiful Nuisance" by Monty Dart and William Cross, Newport historians . The book took 7 years to complete to try to solve the mystery of  " A Beautiful Nuisance.
