The Hon. Violet Wilhelmina Morgan was born on 24th September 1860 at Ruperra Castle, Newport, Monmouthshire. She was the daughter of Frederick Courtney Morgan and Charlotte Anne (nee Williamson) and sister of  Courtenay Charles Evan Morgan, 3rd Lord Tredegar, niece of 1st Viscount Tredegar Godfrey Charles Morgan of Balaclava fame. She married Major Basil St. John Mundy, son of Maj.-Gen. Pierrepont Henry Mundy and Harriet Georgina Tyler, on 28 August 1894. She died on 22 December 1943. Her only son Frederick Charles Mundy was killed in the Great War. As the picture suggests Violet was associated with horse racing and riding throughout her life. Pictured here on horseback, with her horse trainer, Fred Day.

Joanna Law-Smith ( Later Russell, then Morgan ) (died as Mrs Bruce Yorke, 2002) :   Wife of John Morgan (1908-1962). Married 1954. John predeceased her. John Morgan was the 6th and last Lord Tredegar. His father  Frederic George  Morgan – brother of Courtenay Morgan  ( 3rd Lord) was 5th Lord ( at Evan’s death in 1949) handed everything over to John to avoid double death duties. Frederic ( usually termed  Uncle Freddie/ Freddy  to Evan)  died in 1954.
